Introducing your 2025 Junior Miss Abernathy, TX agHERculture - Jaycee Barker!
Jaycee Barker is an 11-year-old who loves all things agriculture. She is the daughter of Chris and Raelee Barker and is proud to be actively involved in both 4-H and rodeo. Jaycee has served as an officer in her local Abernathy 4-H Club for the past two years and currently serves as the 3rd Vice President.
Agriculture holds a special place in Jaycee’s heart because she believes it is the foundation of our world—providing food, clothing, and countless resources that sustain our daily lives. Her deep love for animals and dedication to agricultural education inspire her dream of becoming a veterinarian one day.
Throughout her 4-H journey, Jaycee has participated in a wide variety of projects, including Horse, Showing Swine, Mini Herefords, Food Challenge, Food Show, Educational Presentations, Duds to Dazzle, Storyboard, Livestock Judging, Livestock Skill-a-thon, Consumer Decisions, Meat Judging, Swine Skill-a-thon, Shooting Sports, and Dog Care. She has received numerous awards for her educational presentations as well as the Williams Junior Judging Award, the Junior Bronze Star Award, and the Livestock Award. She was also recently named Reserve Champion in the Swine Skill-a-thon at the State Fair of Texas.
Jaycee especially loves horses and enjoys the thrill of barrel racing. In addition to her 4-H and rodeo activities, she competes in UIL academics and has been a top fundraiser and advocate for the American Heart Association for the past four years, helping to raise awareness about heart health. Jaycee treasures meeting new friends, learning new skills, and gaining experiences that she knows will shape her future. She also finds great joy in volunteering and giving back to her community, even having the opportunity to chair community service projects.
Jaycee and others will be competing for the State title and scholarship, in January. Join her by registering at agherculture.com/texas
