Introducing your 2026 Miss Frankston, TX agHERculture - Lily West!
Lily Brooke West has never known a life without agriculture. From spending her younger years horseback competing in barrel racing to exhibiting breeding Brahman heifers, commercial heifers, and market and breeding rabbits across Texas, agriculture has been far more than an activity for Lily—it has helped shape who she is. Today, Lily proudly represents Frankston FFA, where she has been elected by her peers to serve as Chapter Vice President for two consecutive years. While Lily has competed in Leadership Development Events, Speaking Development Events, and numerous other FFA activities, some of her proudest accomplishments cannot be measured by a banner or buckle. She has used her leadership positions to create opportunities for others—hosting events that introduce younger FFA members to the many opportunities available within the organization, presenting safety programs to younger members of her community, and continually encouraging her peers to step outside their comfort zones and become more involved. Lily understands firsthand that sometimes the greatest obstacle standing between a young person and an incredible opportunity is simply having the courage to take the first step. Whether that means encouraging a younger member to discover a new area of FFA or convincing a classmate that they are strong and courageous enough to walk into a Speaking Development Event and share their voice, Lily strives to be the person who helps others take that step. She has earned the highest FFA degree currently available to her and continues to challenge herself to experience everything the agricultural industry has to offer. Yet, for Lily, agriculture has never been about collecting titles, awards, banners, or buckles. It is about people. It is about leadership. It is about preserving a way of life while preparing the next generation to carry it forward.
Following graduation, Lily plans to attend Tarleton State University and major in Agricultural Communications. Her goal is to build a career around the industry that has given her so much by becoming an advocate and communicator for agriculture—sharing the stories of the farmers, ranchers, students, families, and communities who make the industry possible. If selected as Miss Texas AgHERculture, Lily would view the title not simply as a crown to wear, but as a responsibility to serve. She hopes to use the platform to travel, speak, visit schools, attend agricultural events, and utilize social media to reach both agricultural and non-agricultural audiences. She especially wants young women to understand that there is no single definition of what a woman in agriculture looks like. Whether their future is in a show ring, pasture, classroom, laboratory, boardroom, communications office, or somewhere agriculture has yet to take them, Lily wants them to know there is a place for them. She would also work to bridge the gap between agricultural producers and consumers by putting faces and stories behind the food, fiber, and resources people depend upon every day. Lily believes agriculture does not need someone simply willing to defend it—it needs people willing and able to tell its story with honesty, passion, and pride.
Most importantly, Lily wants her impact to extend beyond the year she would hold the title. Miss Texas agHERculture would fit into a mission she has already begun and intends to continue through college and throughout her career: helping others discover agriculture, encouraging young people to find the courage to step forward, and giving a voice to the industry that gave her one. For Lily Brooke West, agriculture is not simply where she comes from. It is who she is, who she serves, and where she intends to go.
