From the prairie your 2025 Teen Miss Kansas, Joey Wealand!

Joey is the 13 year old daughter of Tim and Lauren Wealand. The oldest child of 6, she leads her siblings by example. She is a 5th generation cattle rancher from the heart of the Flint Hills of Kansas. Joey is an avid livestock showman for beef cattle, swine, and poultry. She has received many Supreme Grand Champion and Reserve Supreme Grand Champion animals since she began at the age of 7. She has also received recognitions for Champion Intermediate Showman in multiple species. Her family operation prides themselves on being bred and owned. The herd consists of a mixture of Charolais, Maine-Anjou, & Commercial Cows, Bulls, and calves. Joey works alongside her parents and grandparents year-round to grow crops used to produce all of our animal feed and providing the day to day care for our livestock. She is a very active member of her family church and her local 4-H Club, serving in the capacity of Junior Beef leader for 3 years. When she isn't doing ag related tasks, she spends her free time on the volleyball court. Volleyball is her second love and she participates on school and club teams throughout the year. Joey's future goals include joining her high school FFA chapter, and eventually attending college to major in Agricultural Communications & Journalism. She also hopes to have the opportunity to compete in volleyball and livestock judging at the collegiate level. Becoming Teen Miss Kansas AgHERculture would allow Joey a larger platform to encourage younger girls to join the Agriculture world. Putting a real face to our industry helps to make it more relatable. She hopes to experience the opportunity to attend the National pageant to create new, long lasting friendships with other girls that hold the same interests as her.
