Congratulations to Miss Joely Acosta for being awarded Miss Arizona agHERculture! Here is more about her: "Hello, I’m Joely Acosta, a 16-year-old from the small town of Douglas, Arizona. As a proud member of my local FFA chapter, I’m passionate about showing that small towns and small chapters deserve recognition in the agricultural world. With this title, I hope to amplify the voices of hardworking individuals who often go unnoticed—and most importantly, to shine a light on the incredible contributions women make in agriculture. Coming from a rural community, I want to give back to my state and inspire other girls like me to know they can lead, serve, and make a difference. I love being outdoors with my animals and spending time reading. I’m currently raising and showing a goat for the Cochise County Fair—it’s my first year, and I’m so excited to prove how responsible and dedicated I am. When I grow up, I plan to become a veterinarian because of my love for animals and the joy I find in caring for them. My parents, Eileen Martinez Cisneros and Joaquin Martinez, have raised me to always be kind, help others, and treat everyone with respect—regardless of their background or abilities. Their values have shaped who I am today. FFA has given me more than just skills—it’s given me a second family. Through this program, I’ve learned about leadership, responsibility, time management, and setting meaningful goals. I’ve earned my Greenhand Degree and, alongside my team, placed 2nd in the district for Agricultural Sales. I’m proud to be part of a community that lifts each other up, and I’m grateful to my advisors for always believing in me. With this title, I hope to keep advocating, growing, and proving that young women from small towns can do big things in agriculture."
