Do you have someone who inspires others or yourself by setting a good example? Someone who often embodies qualities or behaviors others admire and want to emulate, such as kindness, perseverance, success, or integrity. Role models can be public figures, like athletes or leaders, or people in one's personal life, like parents, teachers, or mentors. The key is that they positively influence others and motivate them to strive for their personal growth.

Kelly Sloan, Miss Colorado agHERculture’s role model is her FFA Advisor and agriculture instructor Mrs. Abigail Johnson of the Pueblo County FFA Chapter. Here is what Miss Kelly has to say:

“I have known Mrs Abigail Johnson Larson for a majority of my life. She has always shown me that anything is possible and pushed me to be the best I can be. Two years ago she became a huge part of my life when she became my FFA Advisor. Passing down her knowledge, wisdom, and experiences. I had the opportunity to attend the 2023 National FFA Convention and Expo with Mrs. Johnson. I know if I ever need anything she will always be right there helping me through it all. Not only is she my Advisor, and she is also an AMAC (Academy of Manufacturing, Construction, and Agriculture) instructor. This year in the Principals of Agriculture Power Structure and Technology, she has taught herself welding, engines, and car care to be able to teach us the same skills. She will forever be one of my role models because she is one of the reasons I want to become an Agriculture Educator and she has shown me what women in the agricultural industry are capable of.”
