Introducing your 2025 Ms. Michigan agHERculture, Kendal Valentine!
Kendal Makay Valentine was raised in rural Michigan, where her deep-rooted passion for agriculture began through the influence of family and friends. This early connection to the land and lifestyle led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During her time at UTK, Kendal was an active member of several agricultural organizations, including the National AgriMarketing Association chapter and the university’s Horse Judging Team. After graduation, Kendal began her professional journey in the agritourism industry, where she has embraced the opportunity to connect people with agriculture in meaningful and engaging ways. In 2025, she proudly serves as a Michigan Grown, Michigan Great Ambassador, working to bridge the gap between Michigan consumers and locally grown products while educating the public about the importance of agriculture. Today, Kendal spends much of her time raising meat turkeys, riding and showing horses, and enjoying time with family and friends. Her commitment to agriculture continues to grow as she expands her knowledge in areas such as beef cattle, agritourism, and the role of agriculture in everyday life. Kendal is passionate about inspiring young girls and women to explore and embrace agricultural careers. With her agHERculture title, she is eager to connect with her state and community, demonstrating that agriculture truly is for everyone. She hopes to be a role model in the industry, showing that agriculture can be a part of any girl’s life and that there is a place for all passions in agriculture for women.
