Rylee Holmes is excited to serve as your 2025 Miss Arkansas agHERculture! As a high school student from Crawford County, Arkansas, Rylee is passionate about honoring her agricultural heritage, which dates back to the American Revolution. As the daughter of a retired military family, starting her farm has presented challenges due to frequent relocations and school changes during her childhood. However, these experiences have helped her develop strong interpersonal skills, enabling her to connect with people in various situations. Rylee and her sisters were so enthusiastic about moving to Arkansas and beginning their farming journey that she purchased hens at a feed store before their relocation. The move meant her dedicated stepfather had to transport her initial flock from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to the Arkansas River Valley in the cab of his pickup truck. Upon arriving in Arkansas, Rylee quickly embraced the local lifestyle and felt inspired to carry on her family's legacy. She aims to represent the state while pursuing her dreams of working with livestock and promoting the sustainability and quality of high-caliber animals. During her impressive year at the Crawford County Fair, Rylee earned several accolades, including Grand Champion Bantam for her Silkie chicken, as well as recognition for her breeding doe and third overall in the market lamb category, all while proudly representing her FFA chapter. These accomplishments fueled Rylee’s passion for agriculture like never before. Since then, she has joined the Arkansas Junior Sheep Council and is eager to start her market lamb flock. As Miss Arkansas agHERculture, Rylee plans to advocate for agriculture by sharing how her involvement has grounded her. She aims to inform others about her experiences and encourage them to explore agriculture, allowing it to positively impact their lives. Rylee intends to create a welcoming community for students, motivating them to embrace new opportunities, even if they discover their passions later in their educational journey. Additionally, as Miss Arkansas, she aspires to launch Socks for Service, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing socks to those in need. Hearing service members express their eagerness to receive new socks upon returning from combat inspired this idea. The name honors her journey as a military child while also paying tribute to one of the state’s primary crops by addressing a basic necessity.
